When I first moved to Rome a little over a year ago, Luigi's was my go to pizza and wings place. Their large pizza and wings deal was awesome for football on Sundays, and was more than enough for two meals each between my girlfriend and myself. Since football season has ended, I have branched out to other Italian restaurants in Rome; Some of which are very good. Tonight for the hockey playoffs, I decided to order from Luigi's again. This was easily one of the worst order-out experiences I've ever had for the following reasons:
6) I ordered blue cheese with the wings, and got none.
1) The guy taking my order seemed annoyed or even irritated that I was calling.
4) When the food finally arrived, we opened the pizza box to find that half of the cheese from the pizza was solidly stuck to the top of the box, effectively ripping the cheese from the rest of the pizza.
5) What cheese remained on the pizza informed us that our order was wrong. We ordered a large, half plain, half mushroom and ham pizza. What we got was a large half with mushroom and half with ham. This was despite the fact that the guy who took my order correctly read our order back to me when I ordered.
Place is dirty waitress is. Extremely rude she is new but who needs it. We are done not going back I've Ben in business my self for 37 years never saw such crud as this place. They smoke by door they don't clean. Flus all over landing on my good my wife and I said no more.no more I've called the codes health department and the mayor's office. Also posted on social media. I hope they close. That pig hole down .
7) All this aside, the worst part was the wings. TWO of our first 10 wings had FEATHERS fried into them. We threw the remaining ones out.
2) They were out of certain toppings that we normally order. When I changed our order to adapt to this, the guy taking my order got more irritated with me.
Be Very careful when you order. I ordered the large cheese and wing special, and two slices, I was charged 34 dollars.....seemed very high for what I ordered, so I asked for an itemised receipt. The itemised receipt showed a total of 30.94. After asking why the difference? I was told a delivery fee....I was standing in the restaurant. I was understandably upset, so I asked for my foods and left. If they are willing to rob me of $3 for no other reason, than why not. Imagine what they have already done, and what they could do to you.
3) I was told it would take 45 minutes for my order to come. It ended up taking an hour and a half. About an hour and five minutes after I ordered, the delivery guy called and asked where I lived, eventhough I had given this information to the guy taking my order.
The reason I gave a 2 instead of a 1 is because in the past their service was adequate and their food was good and it was relatively inexpensive. This experience, however, was inexcusable in my opinion. If any two or three of the above things happened, I would have chalked it up to a bad night, but all of them happening at once is not a fluke. Given the overwhelming number of pizza and wing places in Rome, I don't think I will be ordering from Luigi's again.
Had lunch at Lucy's toady. Meatball covered sandwich was huge, tasty and reasonably priced. One slice of pizza with cheese $1.75 plus any extra topping $.25 eat. So good. The waiter was friendly and helpful. Thanks Lugi!
Pizza for takeout is really good sometimes only sometimes. Only ate inside once never again. Food was horrible! There was a party of 6 and each of us ordered different items and complained how bad the food was definitely not going back!
